I attended this play expecting sidesplitting laughter. After all, I am an educator in NYC. However, I saw an honest, funny and poignant reflection of what it means to be a teacher. Parts of the play were funny, emotional and touching. Mr. Fry...continued

This is some real funny stuff. Jack makes you laugh and cry at some very important (and sensitive)issues. I loved this show and recommend it. An up and coming performer. Won't be the last we see and hear of him. Catch this while you can.

They Call Me Mister Fry is an incredibly touching and extremely funny exploration of the experience of a first year teacher in a South Central L.A. public school.

I read the teaser: "What happens when a white boy from Indiana ends up teaching...continued

As a fairly new teacher in a high-needs school in the Bronx, I found this show to be so relatable- even if the story took place across the country! It was hysterically funny, heart-wrenching (at times), and all too real for any teacher, but...continued

I loved Jack's performance! It far exceeded my expectations.
Yes, it was funny, but really not in the stand-up comic way one might expect in a venue named "Comic Strip Live."
It was poignant and inspiring. As a former teacher I identified...continued

In less than ninety minutes, Mister Fry, alone on stage with only a desk and a couple props brings to life - children, teachers, parents, even the principal and makes it look easy. He shines a light on the struggles and miracles of America's...continued

This was an entertaining and emotionally moving play about what it is like being a public school teacher in a rough part of L.A. and the lives that are touched. Mr. Fry acted out the various characters very well. Definitely recommended!

This was so much more than an entertaining evening with a talented comic. Jack's story, told with tremendous compassion as well as humor, touched us deeply. Teachers will find this especially meaningful, but it is first-rate, thought-provoking...continued

We thought it would be a take on all his students with lots of hilarity. He actually chose just two students and told about his days as a teacher and how it affected his life and the lives of his students. It was an emotional testament as to...continued

Bravo! Bravo! They Call Me Mr. Fry is one of the most cleverly written and performed shows I've seen in New York. The characters (all played by Jack Freiberger) connect you to their cause with a fresh voice from the start of the show. Speaking of...continued
