Mary Shelley's 1818 horror classic, Frankenstein, gets a 21st-century update in this innovative British production, directed by Oscar winner Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire) and adapted by Nick Dear. The high-definition recording was made on the London Stage of the acclaimed National Theatre, and now this 2011 broadcast returns to the big screen as part of the National Theatre's 50th anniversary celebrations. The classic tale of a mad scientist and his ghoulish creation, the production features actors Benedict Cumberbatch (Atonement) and Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting), who both won Olivier Awards for alternating the roles of Victor Frankenstein and the Creature. "Uptown Showdown" was truly enjoyable. Six smart, funny folks debating an un-debatable subject . . . genius! I enjoyed the show and the theater so much that I've already purchased a FULL-PRICE(!) ticket for the next round. Thanks, Goldstar and Symphony Space!

The MC from Time Out and six of the funniest " City and Country" comedians provided an evening of non-stop laughter. One of the best comedy shows I have ever attended! Thank you Goldstar for offering a delightful experience at a lovely venue.
