I gave this a 3 because of the venue not the singer. Vonda was absolutely spot on fabulous. The food at BB Kings could not be worse - we had the nachos and they were stale with bbq sauce around bits of meat that I wasn't sure was safe to eat. Overpriced menu - outrageous really for what you get. The seat we had was upfront but we had to crane our necks to see anything from where we were. It was painful and we only got to see a partial view of the stage being so close and off to the left. We had to watch the tv screen a lot of the time - being under the piano and mostly got a good view only of vonda's back and butt, quite frankly!

Description

Since her record-breaking stint with Ally McBeal, Shepard has continued to produce top-quality indie singer-songwriter material, with releases including Chinatown (2002), Live: A Retrospective (2004), and From the Sun (2008). She has also performed with the Indigo Girls and The Funk Brothers and she has shared the stage at music festivals with Sting, The Eurythmics, Santana, and Matchbox 20. In addition, she opened for Sugarland's summer 2010 and 2011 tours and continues performing at her own domestic and international concerts. Her latest effort, simply titled Solo (2011), finds Shepard alone with her piano, performing many of her originals. The disc provides the perfect opportunity to get to know Shepard's earthy and accessible style and her intimate interaction with listeners. As one fan declared, "It's thoroughly refreshing to see such inherent talent performed naturally with such sunny disposition ... delectable."
