Alice Tan Ridley: America's Got Talent Singer at Cafe Wha?
R&B and gospel singer Alice Tan Ridley, who made headlines with her soulful and powerful performances on NBC's hit TV show America's Got Talent, appears live in concert at Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village. A Harlem native and long-time New York subway busker, Ridley appeared on the 2010 season of America's Got Talent at the age of 58, and astonished the audience and judges with her renditions of Etta James' "At Last," Gladys Knight's "Midnight Train to Georgia" and other classic tunes. Ridley is also the mother of Precious star Gabourey Sidibe.
