report as inappropriateExcellent cruise. The food, the boat, the ambiance, music, views. All exceeded my and my husband's expectations. We were celebrating our anniversary, and, as the other reviewer said, a lot of people there were celebrating something. We were lucky with the weather, and could stand outside to admire night city views and the Statue. The food was really good. Entree portions generous. Desserts tasty. Good wine selection. I am now recommending this cruise to my friends for any special occasion and just a beautiful evening out.
report as inappropriateExcellent, Romantic, Beautiful Evening. The food was good. The service was good. The VIEW was AMAZING! It helps to remind you why we are New Yorkers. I took my husband for his birthday, it felt like a semi formal we got dressed up and had the best time--music, food, (they said we could dance but no one did) & there was even a photographer there to take pictures of us at an additional cost, but well worth it!
Most of the couples on board were celebrating something. I would not go this single--it's all about couples and celebrations--plus you will want to share the view! They gave my husband and all the other guests recognition for their celebration and my husband even got a candle in his dessert!
report as inappropriateThere is not enough that can be said for this dinner cruise. From start to finish, it was fantastic. The service, atmosphere, food and entertainment were all first class. The cruise down the Hudson and East Rivers provide breathtaking views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. It was an all around wonderful evening. I highly recommend this dinner cruise to anyone. We could not have chosen a better way to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary!
report as inappropriateMy husband and i had dinner at Bateaux NY on october, 22nd, 2009. It was a beautiful warm night in NY, which i think it was impotant. We decided to go on the cruise because we had had a good experience at Bateaux Parisiens, in Paris.
The service was very friendly, but the food is just fine. We had lobster bisque, and it was REALLY GOOD. But the pork chop, besides cooked perfectly, had not much spice. The salmon my husband ordered was a little dry. Desserts were fine.
It was offered us complimentary 2 glasses of champagne, and i think it shows an attention to the client. The wine we ordered was good, and it costs 50 dollars, which i think it was a good price for New York.
The food is served in a way that you can eat, then go out and take pictures or dance between the plates, and i think it is a good idea.
The singer has a sweet voice, and i think she gave us a really good show. The music was in a right volume and the repertory is good.
The view of Manhattan is spectacular and the boat stops in front of Libert Statue for about 10 minutes so we can take really good photos.
The cruise lasts 3 hours, and i think it is enough - not less, not much.
At the end we got a taxi right in front of the Chelsea Pier Avertise, and it took just 5 minutes. Then i realized that many people wait for the taxis 50 meters ahead, which means that they may wait a lot to go back to the hotel. This is a tip for who wants to take the cruise: don't follow everybody after the dinner, go to the place i went to, it is much easier to get a taxi.
After all, as i paid 170 for a couple, I think it is fair, considering the service i had at the boat.
If i had bought directly from the website of the boat, it will cost, for a couple, incredible 310 dollars, which i think it's not worth it at all.
I would have the cruise again for the price i paid, but during the day, just to have another experience.
I think the cruise in Paris is better, as you can see more of the city than the NY one, as in Paris we cruise on a river, much closer to the buildings and bridges.
Hope i can help other to make a decision.
report as inappropriateThe Bateaux New York was absolutely wonderful. I took my boyfriend for his birthday and it made for a fantastic evening. As a native new yorker I have never experienced such amazing views prior to cruising on the Bateaux. It's all window design and being very close to water level creates this incredible back drop of the skyline, we were able to get some great photos.
The food was wonderful too, the presentation was impressive and everything was prepared perfectly. The short ribs and lamb shank for entree were far from disappointing. Very good.
The service was impeccable too, our waiter was Richard, he made our evening even better. Along with the band, they were great too.
I highly recommend this event, even if you do live in NYC, this is a great experience.
