The glowlight-suited dance group iLuminate -- who rose to fame on television's America's Got Talent -- bring you a story of adventure and romance told through the dance styles of hip-hop, breaking and locking and contemporary jazz fused with the power of light. Artist of Light follows Jacob, a struggling young artist who finds it difficult to connect with the real world. He turns for solace to a magic paintbrush that turns the characters of his imagination into living creatures. When a jealous rival steals the brush and turns his gentle creation into a horrible villain, Jacob must fight to save his town and his friends. Learn More

This play about a couple of stoners getting high was clearly written by a couple of stoners when they were high. I know that there are others here who have actually recommended this play, but I find it inexplicable that this trite drivel got produced, let alone was enjoyed by anyone. The "jokes" about pedophelia, the Holocaust, racism (including the frequent casual use of the N-word), and homophobia were delivered with all the sublety of a Nazi rally. The actors -- Oh, the poor actors! -- didn't so much act as just shout. As for the haphazardly crafted play itself, it has the thinnest of plots, no clear protagonist, no real villain (or are there just too many villains?), absolutely no story arc, no structure, and no meaning. This was the first play written by either Woody Harrelson or his construction-site buddy, Frankie Hyman, and it showed! If it wasn't for Harrelson's marquis value, there is no other circumstance under which this junk would have made it to the stage.
Bottom line: This play was pointless, witless, worthless, aimless and meaningless. Avoid at all costs and thank me later.
star this review starred report as inappropriateI really enjoyed this play, funny, some of the wittiest lines and the performances are top notch. Loved how they incorporated the music and video clips during scene changes, very well done. Is the the greatest plays out there, no, but it is entertaining and held my interest the whole time. Well done, 4.5 stars since it had some awesome over the top moments.
