Not a big fan. Parts were OK, but it seemed more like they were standing on a soapbox than celebrating the new year.

Very entertaining show, with humorous intro to each piece by bilingual Chinese/English presenters

I loved the seat upgrade I got when I picked up the tickets. It's not that I did not like the show - parts were very good. It seems like it was advertised as a different show. I thought it would be exciting - more action - more acrobatics - more martial arts - more like a chinese New Year Parade - less of a talent show flow. Did not expect to see Opera Singers - 1 would have been OK but there were way too many! Thought it was to be a family show but it was not geared towards kids at all. We left at intermission. It was too drawn out. The dancing was great but after the first 3 dances they staretd looking the same. We enjoyed the drum number. Just not what we expected at all.

Description

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. A magical feast for the eyes and ears, Chinese New Year Splendor made its debut in 2004 in New York City. With English and Chinese hosts guiding you through the beauty of China’s 5,000-year-old culture, the celebration has over 100 international Chinese artists coming together for this breathtaking show of epic proportions.

In four short years, Chinese New Year Splendor has grown to become the largest and most extravagant celebration of Chinese New Year in the world, performing more than 120 shows in 60 cities across four continents for an estimated audience of over half a million people.

Billboard magazine declared the sold-out February 2006 production at Radio City Music Hall to be one of the top 10 shows of the year.
