Beautiful costumes, graphics, in entertaining dance and singing productions. The pair who does the announcing are excellent and hilarious. I have gone for several years, and the political Falun Gong subject has grown from a cute subtle hint in a few numbers to become the theme of many numbers which is pounded in an annoying way by the end of the evening.Written on Jan 27 2009

I had what I thought was a good idea of what to expect at this show. It was definitely beautiful, especially the costumes and the dance choreography - stunning! But what we were not expecting was operatic style voice solos with piano accompaniment. These songs were distracting to say the least. Not very pleasant to my ear, and really, almost tacky. The two commentators that tried to provide humor (however unsuccessfully) between each act were really boring and robotic, and it became annoying to have to listen to them in between each and every act performed. I understood there would be martial arts, but that was only present insofar as it was a part of their traditional ballet. Nothing exciting to watch. I also heard there was great drumming. The show started with an awesome kettle drumming performance but afterward there was only one other act with such small hand drums that you could barely hear and were only a prop used while the performers mostly danced. By the end we were getting tired of the format. It felt long. I wasn't moved emotionally by this show at all, and the video reviews we saw showed audience members practically moved to tears and amazed. I was relatively glad I went. I wouldn't have felt badly if I'd missed it. I definitely wouldn't spend the money or time to go again. I do want to give great kudos to Goldstar - the seats were incredible, very close in the orchestra and nearly 1/2 the original price.Written on Jan 26 2009

It's by far the most beautiful show I've seen over the years. The dances and music are so peaceful and divine that they are out of this world!!! I've learned so much about the depth and beauty of Chinese culture. Definitely a crash course for me and my family!Written on Jan 26 2009
