It had its share of jugglers, acrtobats, etc. but I was hoping that being Cirque du Soleil it would be more of an adult show while everything was aimed at a younger audience and very predictable. After 45 minutes they had an intermission and the second part of the show was almost like the first part.
The staging was really second rate and what story there was (I couild only hear this kid yelling about wanting to have some snow) was not worth $65 per. Our seats were great. I love Goldstar but this showe was really a major disappointment.

My family loved the show. This was our first time attending an event at the WAMU Theater, however, and we really did not care for the venue. Impossibly long rows, ineffectively executed "stadium" seating, and ridiculously low ceilings made it a less than comfortable experience.

Fun for kids of all ages, I ignored the bad reviews and had a great time. The costumes, perfomers and stage sets is amazing and the all who go will be dazzled. I just wish it was longer.

Had I never seen a Cirque show, I would have been disappointed but since I have, I was devastated. This is not anywhere near the realm of beautiful theatre and movement that Cirque has made themselves known for. The story line they are trying to build a show around is not only weak, it's poorly executed. The devices are nonsensical, seemingly unrelated to each other, and irritating. The fact that there are animatronics and a lot of computer stuff is confounding. The first act has one wonderful bit, a balancing act. The second act has some redeeming elements, 2 truly astounding, long-form circus bits that hint at what Cirque usually accomplishes.
The performers are clearly talented in many ways, the major disconnect is in everything else:writing and direction.
I don't know if there has been a huge shift in management or artistic vision, but this show is not in the same world as any of the others I've seen. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful performances and scenery. Great music. The little boy was necessary for the plot, but I didn't really think a plot was necessary. Nonetheless, I greatly enjoyed it and will look for other Cirque Du Soleil performances.

I mean no offense to the Cirque performers. I can never do what they do and truly believe they are very talented; HOWEVER Wintuk was VERY BELOW PAR for a Cirque performance! I'd seen Cirque's Zumanities show in Vegas a few years ago and had been in total AWE at what I saw there. I wanted to share my experience with my brother. Wintuk was NOWHERE even CLOSE to what I experienced at the Vegas show. The first half was actually very BORING. They had a juggler juggling pink balls for like 15 minutes, huge dogs running around took up a lot of time too. I didn't really get the plot in the second half and the kid who wanted snow was very cute, but NOT interesting. I think if Wintuk was the FIRST Cirque performance I ever saw, I would think people were crazy when they talked about how amazing Cirque is. It should NOT have been advertised as a Cirque du Soleil performance and we should have been WARNED that the entire first half consists of "street performers." I know these performers are talented but I can see street performers in Washington Square Park for FREE. It wasn't until the last 15 minutes of the show that things got interesting. The SNOW was cool at the end-that's it. Had I known, I would have NEVER paid for these tickets.

I've a big Cirque fan and have seen maybe 5 or 6 shows. This was my least favorite show of them all...the story was lame and the performances were pretty boring. Great seats though!

My husband and I were so disappointed. This is Cirque c/o Disney (along the lines of the Lion King). The acrobatics and music were completely secondary to the story which was entirely geared toward very young children. Cirque is spread way too thin with the numerous shows / venues around the country - it's apparent from the lack of intensity and focus that's always been apart of the show. Very sad.

I did not like this event. Was not worth the money I paid for it. I expected much more from Cirque Du Soleil performances. Its a nice event to take kids to but the price is expensive for just a kids show. I thought the show was boring.

The WaMu Theater is a very uncomfortable, unpleasant experience. The seats are too small and the rows are too close together for even an average size adult. Wintuk is a production clearly designed for very young children, or adults with no experience. Although the stagecraft and production values were very high, frequently stunning, the actual performances were mostly average.

I have never been dissapointed by a Cique Du Soleil show and this was no exception. As always the performers made the most difficult feats look simple. This show is great for all ages.

More Details
Back for its second year at WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden, Cirque du Soleil's Wintuk is playful, musical, and bursting with the energy of the city and the broad sweep of nature. A cast of 50 performers weaves thrilling circus arts, breathtaking theatrical effects and memorable songs into a meaningful seasonal story that resonates with the whole family.
A boy lives in a city where the arrival of winter has brought long shadows and intense cold -- but no snow. He interacts with an extraordinary cast of high-energy urban street characters, including acrobats, dancers and talking marionettes. But when the snow still doesn’t arrive, he embarks on a quest with three companions -- a female shaman who’s lost in the city, a shy man destined to discover his courage and the shadow of a young girl -- to find the snow and bring it back where it belongs.
The adventurers journey to an imaginary land called Wintuk -- an Arctic world without sunlight -- where they encounter the rich culture of the People of the North and extraordinary giant characters made of ice. When at last the sun returns, they fly home on the wings of a giant crane and generate a swirling snowstorm.
