Stop at Zabar's was interesting, but too short.
  • on Where to Eat
Thank you for allowing eating & drinking on the bus.
  • on Where to Park
We arrived by subway. Parking in NYC is always a problem.

Disclaimer: We went to the first ever tour of this kind the company offered, so of course perfection was not to be expected.

Too many movies have been made in NY to include them all on this tour. I feel that a lot of movies were crammed into the tour though. And trust me, the movies are classics as in, nothing is talked about after 1980s or 90s.

We stopped at Zabar's food market on the Upper West Side -- I don't know what for. I'm not sure it had anything to do with movies at all. The nicest part was getting to see the 59th St bridge and taking pictures. We took pics on the subway grate Marilyn Monroe stood on.

As mid-twenty somethings, we didn't know very many of the movies talked about, but we figured we could have a fun time anyway.

Unless you're a die hard classic movie fan, this tour wasn't worth it, even at the Goldstar price.

Maybe the tour is good for out-of-towners, but for New Yorkers stops at sidewalk gratings, apartment buildings, and hotels just aren't exciting.

About the Ticket Supplier: On Location Tours

On Location Tours, Inc. (formerly Scene on TV Tours) was founded in June of 1999 by Georgette Blau, a 1996 graduate of Skidmore College. Blau founded the company shortly after her "move on up" to the East Side of Manhattan (into a not-so-deluxe apartment), where she discovered that she lived by the Jeffersons.

Blau was featured in the May 13, 2002 issue of People Magazine. The company has been featured in thousands of media outlets around the world, including TV Guide, Newsweek, Businessweek, Entertainment Weekly, The Today Show, 60 Minutes II, and the Travel Channel's TV Road Trip.

The aim of On Location Tours is to create tours that allow people the opportunity to straddle fiction and reality, letting them feel as though they are part of the TV show or movie, ultimately bringing them closer to the characters themselves.
