"Stand Up Comedy doesn't take 'courage.' It takes talent and self-hatred. Oh, and the nonexistence of a plan B for your life." --Mike DeStefano
Comedian Mike DeStefano's employment history isn't really appropriate for a resume. The first time he performed stand-up comedy was at an NA convention in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He convinced a security guard that he was a stand-up comic and would do a free show for everyone. They loved him! Not long after that, he began performing in comedy clubs. He is active on the professional comedy circuit -- the Laugh Factory, Comedy Cellar, Comedy Village, Stand Up N.Y., etc. -- in addition to making college lecture and entertainment appearances. He uses humor and laughter to talk openly about some of the darkest parts of his own life.
