Directed and choreographed by Tony-winner Bill T. Jones (Spring Awakening) and produced by Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, FELA! brings a high-energy mix of dance, theater and music to tell the true-life story of the legendary Nigerian musician Fela Kuti. With a score featuring Kuti's pioneering Afrobeat music -- a blend of jazz, funk and African rhythm and harmonies -- FELA! powerfully explores Kuti's controversial life as an innovative artist, civil-rights champion and revolutionary musician. This acclaimed show won three 2010 Tony Awards, including Best Choreography, and has toured throughout the United States and internationally.

Awesome musical to the Afro beat music of Fela. I even saw my former work colleague Danny Soto. Excellent dancing, acting, singing. What a joy to watch!

This was my second time going to see Fela and again it was so amazing. This was the 2nd to last show before the end of its Broadway run and the energy was so high in that theater. The live music and dancing really made you want to dance too! And the lead actor was phenomenal and extremely funny. I would recommend to anyone wanting to have a good time in NYC if it ever comes back to Broadway again.
