FuerzaBruta was an amazing experience. The actors were extremely engaged, the music was hard to stay still to, and the descending pool was magic. The sensory images were unlike any other show I have seen. FuerzaBruta is original, beautiful, freeing, and exhilarating. Allow yourself to be free & open to experience. The shy need to stay away from this event. The performers need your vitality and energy to help the vibe remain strong!!! I know this show is closing very soon - so go and catch it while you are still able! You will NOT regret it :)

I LOVED IT! I was skeptical at first when I read other reviews about standing and possibly getting wet, but this show was definitely an experience I will never forget! In fact, I didn't even think about standing and you'll only end up getting wet if you join the others dancing in the 'rain'! You gotta see it for yourself... & don't forget your camera!

Absolutely Fantastic! I will be going back to see this show at least a few more times! If you loved De La Guarda, SEE THIS SHOW! It's different, but it's still fantastic.
Oh, and cameras (NO FLASH!!) are allowed! check out my photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidfotos/sets/72157604012372390/

It was FANTASTIC! It was definitely different than most shows in NYC, with lots of audience participation. It was short (only 70 minutes), but it was high energy. Think of it as Cirque du Soleil Junior on steroids.

I didn't know what to expect when I walked in and grouped with a bunch of other people standing in a circle in an open, dark room... but honestly, this was one of the best experiences of my life! I say experience and not show, because that's what it was. It was visually, orally, emotionally stimulating and I would, hands down, do it again!

Not suggested for those with bad necks like myself but that didn't stop me from fully enjoying myself. We took our 12 year old with us and had an amazing experience in sound, light, texture, and movement. Truly an exceptional experience.

A truly unique experience, Fuerzabruta attacks all your senses bringing you theatrics, music, dance, running, swimming, playing, sex and love - a beautiful chaos of fluid and frantic movement - swirling, quite literally, all around you.
Fuerzabruta is like no other performance you have ever seen, and is a fabulous follow-up to their last show, De La Guarda.
Side Notes:
You are standing throughout the performance, there are no chairs.
Dress casual, you may get wet, travel with few things, you'll want to check it all before you go in. Those prone to epileptic seizures may need to avert their eyes during a segment of the overhead performance.

This was a gift for my sister and 3 nieces/nephews. They all loved it and said it was such a fun/great experience. Glad to hear they enjoyed something unique in the city - I wanted to go, but live in Northern California. Thanks Golstar for making an event like this affordable!

This is a very unusual event and for that I would definitely say, go! However, DEFINITELY, check your bags (I got a little bruised by people who didn't) and wear comfortable clothes and shoes that can take some water. The floors (and the people) can get wet.
You have to be okay with being herded throughout. I hate that, but still enjoyed the show very much.

If you're looking for something that is completely different than something u may have experienced, I'd say do this. Some of the stunts are impressive (though its not really Cirquesque), but I think it's the presentation of how everything is put together that makes it fun. It's hard to describe bc I haven't attended a show that was quite like it, but the best analogy is probably Cirque on speed. A little louder, flashier, less acrobatic, and more chaotic. It may not be worth $75, but I think its worth it for the half priced tix and I enjoyed it.
In all fairness, my gf didn't enjoy it as much. She's shorter so at times she couldn't see what was going on behind taller people and she was also complaining that her neck was hurting afterwards. It was also a very young crowd, with a lot of teenagers that were there. Couple this with loud techno music at the end and water hosed on everyone, and its almost like a mini-rave which may not be everyones cup of tea.

This show was AMAZINGGGGGG and trust me I've been to a lot of different shows...This one has made it's way up on the top of my favorit's list. It was so intercative and felt more like a mini rave/party mixed with an artistic and high energy show. Totally my kind of scene!!
I highly recommend going out and seeing it...i might just go again myself!! Thanks GoldStar once again!
A few suggestions...dress comfortable so you can really dance and go prepared to get wet. They spray you with water and water comes shooting out the ceiling. So ladies....don't waste your time doing your hair! Just have a good time!

The event was different but enjoyable. The music took me back to my clubbing days. My friend have been wanting to see this show for quite some and we finally made it out. We had dinner at the Blue Water Grill while it was restaurant week and followed it with the show. I thought it would have been more interactive than it suggested. We just did alot of shifting from one side of the room to the next to make room for the attractions. There was more to the show but you have to check it out for yourselves

all I could say is OH MY GOD!!!....I had the best time, it was a 'feast for the eyes'!!! I would go back and see it again and again! the music is heart pumping and the whole thing is just amazing.
My girlfriend and I plan on going back in the summer where it's easier to get wet without having to worry about going back out in the cold.....but for those of you that are worried about getting wet.....you DO have a chioce whether to get misted or not....we got carried away with the show and although we planned on 'staying dry'....we just couldn't help it, especially when the cast came out and danced with the audience at the end.
Heart pounding, exciting, amazing....truly a great show....you come out of there feeling totally ALIVE!!!!

This show is good fun, but De la Guarda was better. You have to dress casual and be prepared to get a little wet and you may want to bring ear plugs. I suggest checking your coat and your bags because you are standing and moving about the space. I would not bring small children.

I really enjoyed the show. I have already recommended it to friends who are going to be visiting the NYC area.
If you are already suffering from neck/shoulder pain, I wouldn't suggest going to see the show as it'll just aggravate it. You do spend quite a bit of time with your head tilted back to see the aerial performances.

Imagine Elizabeth Streb, but with a safety harness (this is a favorable qualification...), in a nightclub setting, produced by Cirque de Soleil. I didn't see De La Guarda, but this rave-like event by the same creative team, audience moving around the high-ceilinged space under the direction of staff members, was a memorable "date night". High-speed treadmills, confetti, fog, mist sprayers, air-blast fans, very loud music, strobes and crash-through barrier effects combine for an unusual live show. Best effects: Two women suspended 20' up to run horizontally around a puffy mylar cyclorama that surrounds the audience, and a 25' x 50' transparent plastic wading pool lowered from 30' above you to 1' above you, while dancers create sound and patterns in the strobe-lighted puddles.
Caveats: Standing only, for 65 minutes, $2 per item checking essential for coats and bags, frequent herding around semi-darkened room to clear moving scenery, possible viewing obstruction for shorter people and children, poor marking of exits may violate fire code. Licensed bar in lobby, wisely it's impossible to take drinks into theater. You may get damp or dusty, but I didn't.
Union Square/14th Street Subway Station very close by.

This show was amazing! Stimulating in every way. I have to buy tickets for everyone who comes to visit me in the City! You stand the whole time but are moving around and so fixated on the performance that you don't get tired or bored. I was confused but fascinated the entire time. The best was that after the cast took their bow all the actors jumped into the crowd and danced with us. I left the theatre soaking wet. I can't wait to see it again.

I recommend this show to all. The technical elements used to create this show were outstanding. The audience stands for the entire 70 minute show but honestly it did not feel long. The atmosphere was intense! The music pumping. The crowd danced! Remember that feeling when you were a child that Disney World gave you? The feeling of excitment, curiousity, and wonder...well this show brings it all back.

It was pretty good. It kind of reminded me of being in a rave in Ibiza, watching a mix of DeLaGuarda, Stomp and Cirque de Soleil performances. Lots of lights, loud music and noises, and no real sense or story behind the show. But entertaining nonetheless. I would not recommend this show to elderly people, folks with small children or those that don't appreciate eclectic music and abstract, artistic, or bizarre scenarios. You will enjoy this if you are a particularly worldly person. P.S.- You're neck may hurt after a while also :)

Fuerzabruta is a unique experience, and I did have a good time, but it pales in comparison to its predecessor, "De La Guarda." If you are looking to have that kind of experience again, this will remind you of that show's greatness, but also leave you wanting. Overall, I enjoyed the show, but I'm SO glad to have only paid half-price. They tell you the show is 70 min. It's more like 55-60 min. which makes the $70 price tag completely absurd.

Great fun - definitely not for the unadventurous, and children under 10 yrs. of age. (but there were some there who seemed to enjoy it.) If you want something different, lively and fun - this is the show to see. My 13-yr. old saw her former dance instructor swimming above her and was thrilled! Performers seemed to be having as much fun as the audience - boy what a work out for them.

I think you'd have to be high to find anything interesting about this show. I found it lacking in both intelligence or any real entertainment. The acrobatic "feats" were uninspired and gimmicky. The music is dated. The feigned exuberance by the actors got really old about 15 minutes in. I wouldn't recommend this show to anyone.

You'll enjoy the show:
1. If your from the rural area.
2. You're drunk or not completely sober.
3. If you NEVER seen a live show in your life.
4. You broke-up with your significant other, drunk and need to be close to other human beings.
5. You like to shower with your clothes on.
You won't enjoy the show:
1. If you're from New York and seen a lot of other "cool" shows.
2. You're sober.
3. You rather do something else with your time, like, shop.
4. If you're claustrophobic.
5. If water is your enemy

I liked this show, although I did not think it was quite as good as the original De La Guarda. With that said, if you're into audience involved performance art, you'll like it. It's like being at an hour long rave with trippy visuals that you experience in 360 around and above you.

I have seen this event twice now. The 1st time I saw it I loved the peformance. However, 2 1/2 years later I went again with friends and did not enjoy it. The sequence of parts in the performance were changed and had no flow. The 1st time I saw it the music went well with the movement of the performers. The 2nd time it did not and there was a lot of random jumping around by the performers. It seems as though they changed the performance to be a rave not a reflection of brazilian artistic expression.

This show is very interesting and the effects are cool. The best part is the pool that descends above your head. They sprayed the crowd with water at the end - try to stay on the opposite side from the DJ booth. Wear comfortable shoes - you will stand the whole time. The staff moves you around the theatre as the show goes. It's only about 1-hour long. I liked it but I'm glad I didn't pay full price.

Between the great dance music and the incredible aerial acrobatics, you never stop thinking how great this show is! The dancers get you involved, and it's hard not to jump around and dance to the music. If it's a nice day when you go, I definitely recommend dancing in the "rain!"

It's such an unusual event and definitely very difficult to describe to others. The visual effects were so much fun and we all had a good time. You will go "wow." You can get as wet as you want. My friend stayed dry while I intentionally tried to get wet. You will be moving around in the crowd, so wear something that will not restrict your movements.

It was not worth $37.30 a ticket. It was an okay show, but I was disappointed after reading all of the great reviews. Some of the production was impressive, but the show as a whole was not continuously enjoyable. The experience was more like being in a club with random performers. Definitely not for the claustrophobic. I would have paid $15 for the event, but not more.

This show was HORRIBLE! I did not know anything about it and purchased the tickets after reading everyone's "excellent" reviews. After 10 mins, I regretted ever attending.
First of all, the staff was extremely rude and not helpful. Secondly, I just did not get the show! This was Cirque de Soleil on crack.....(not a compliment). What a total waste of time!

It was amazing, my friends were having so much fun. I didn't even get a cold after being wet and having the fan on me.

A feast for the senses...be young and have an open mind. Met and exceeded my expectations. A job well done.
The best part was the actors interaction with the audience...but be prepared to get either wet or covered in bits of confetti :)

Fantastic Visuals and Energy
More Props/Production Value than De La Guarda
More Rave/Audience Dance Party than De La Guarda
*No Flash Photography
*Check all bags, purses over the shoulder are ok
*know you may get wet, but you may stick to the edges of the group and not get wet at all
*know there is loud thumping rave/party music, you may wish to bring earplugs if sensitive
*realize it is loud music and crowded, contained space

Amazing! If you saw De La Guarda, you can't miss Fuerza Bruta. It's the best time you'll have with your clothes on LOL!

For a semi-participative brilliantly imaginative spectacle that will energize, amaze, and delight you, this is a great show! We saw its predecessor De La Guarda years ago which was fantastic, too, and are so happy that this show did not rely on duplication but is original to its current concept. FYI, DO check your bag(s), and DO take the advice to dress casually ... you will get wet, and if you want to, you can get realllly soaked -- and be prepared to hear yourself shout with glee and admiration. I would go again if I was in the area!

You will feel literally the title, which means "Brute Force". I went twice. It is very interactive show . Your are part of the show and the most exciting part is that Photography is allowed. I hope you enjoy these images.

I've seen it three times now and was prepared to be a little bored by it this last time. It's still just as amazing. I think they get better doing it as they go on. The level of energy is fantastic, the music is great, the visuals are stunning. It's just a really terrific performance.

Exhilerating! An amazing performance with dynamic music, effects, acrobatics and dance. It's a bit hard to actually describe but my significant other calls it, "Cirque de Soleil meets Rauschenberg on crack!" - magnificent, unique and FUN!!! It's a gem and a must-see for people of all ages. There's just one instance during which the the crowd (that walks around the space throughout the show since the sets and stage move up and down and from side to side) crouches/sits on the floor so persons who cannot get around easily or stand long should think twice about attending. Otherwise, it is a safe and friendly atmosphere. Wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little wet from fine sprays of water! All in all, loved it - it's unforgettable!
