I give this event a "C" due to a mixed experience. On the negative side, was lack of organization and unfair business practices. Communications received include: "Tickets will be available for pickup at the box office will-call line starting at 1:00pm", "Doors open at 2:00 pm", and Happy Hour is from 2 to 3; instead after waiting 1 and 20 minutes, the gates opened at 2:20 when you are then ushered from line to line after line for check-in, over 21 ID check, etc, that by the time you can buy a drink it is after 3PM and then they refuse to hour their communicated Happy Hour and not even extend it by the amount of their delayed opening. On the bright side, Governor's Island is a great venue, and a must do experience, and the food was excellent and very fresh. My advice: don't comply and get there late.
The “Seafood Sampler Plate” includes one lobster roll, one shrimp cocktail (six shrimp) and a dozen steamed clams.
Please visit the Governors Island website for ferry details. After 7:00pm, a free, chartered boat will be available until midnight for returns.
