I would recommend allowing extra time at the end of the tour to just roam around and eat locally. I made my way back to the Chelsea Market and perused the market slowly... eating along the way.

The owner of City Rover, Max, was also our tour guide. He really knows his stuff! The tour was well worth it. Max keeps the tour group small and managable. He shows you parts of New York city that you wouldn't find in a guide book, but he also...continued

Absolutely wonderful and fun tour of the Village!
Great new discoveries of the old New York.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the meat pies at the Myers of Keswick were delicious!

The tour starts off where the Oreo cookie was born, then heads up to the High Line to admire the views and explore the west side’s glory days as the city’s largest industrial area. It then enters Greenwich Village to explore its side streets, stoops, squares and sordid tales of riots, murder, abuse, artistry and spite.  _


You’ll explore following areas:

  • West Chelsea

  • Meatpacking District

  • West Village

  • Greenwich Village

Each participant will be offered a complimentary bottle of water and two complimentary snacks. (Snacks are not vegan-friendly, but vegetarian alternatives are available.) 

The tour covers two miles in a little over 3 hours. Wear comfortable footwear and dress appropriately for the weather, as the tours go on rain or shine. 

Bring a camera.

Guide gratuities are not included in the tour price. While not mandatory, they are always appreciated.

The tour ends near Washington Square Park in the heart of Greenwich Village. _
