In downtown Philadelphia, a down-and-out boxer is struggling to get by when the chance of a lifetime comes along. He doesn't have long to get back in fighting shape, but if he does it, this could be his best shot to become a champion, and his last chance for love. The massively popular movie about the ultimate underdog inspired this innovative new stage production, brought to life by a five-time Tony Award-winning creative team, including director Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher), songwriting team Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime), and book writers Thomas Meehan (The Producers) and Sylvester Stallone, writer and star of the Rocky films. Featuring 20 original songs, plus hits from the films ("Eye of the Tiger" and "Gonna Fly Now"), Rocky is not only an adrenaline-fueled spectacle for anyone who was a fan of the movie, but it's also a surprising tale of romance that will touch the hearts of longtime musical theater fans. Reading reviews of both the restaurant (food and wait staff) and the show; I really wasn't expecting much. So I really was plesantly surprised.
The show was easy going, light hearted fun - not quality roll-in-the-isles stuff, but entertaining. Presented by two very happy comedians/tour guides. The Margaret Copeland especially shined through with some great accents and stories.
The food was a buffet, no problem with going back for seconds. You can help youself to generous mixed salad, bread, penne in tomato sauce, Penne in Vodka sauce and a chicken dish. Later followed by cookies.
Tables are setup with a few stand alone set for 2 and 4, and a few longer benches for larger groups or to share and meet new friends for the night. there are also a few booths along the side - all seemed to have reasonable views.
A cash bar is also available if you want a drink with your meal.
Overall a nice evening, the comedy gives a good overview of the 5 NY boroughs and attitudes and I was not unhappy - certainly a very good deal for the goldstar rate.

Let us show you how to develop the instincts for disdainful glances, peevish muttering and innate rudeness that distinguish true New Yorkers.
