My teenager and I had a wonderful time. The graffiti, hurricane Sandy pic, and haute couture exhibit were among our favorites. The comely environment, along with friendly staff, was so delightful. I am so glad we attended.

In Love In New York: From Wharton and Whitman To Craigslist *

Saturday, February 15 At 1:00pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm 

Prepare to be swept off your feet and charmed by a short program of dramatic readings illuminating New Yorkers’ quest for love over the ages. Actors from Pleiades Productions will bring to life an eclectic mix of New York love literature — from novel excerpts and poems, to private letters and even Craigslist ads — in the Museum’s intimate Quinson Library. 

Advance registration is required by 8pm on Friday, February 14.

Printmaking With Love *

Sunday, February 16 at 11:00am 

Bring your kids to a family-friendly printmaking workshop inspired by the dazzling costumes and jewelry on display in Gilded New York. Create your own designs, then print them on a handkerchief for a loved one.  No advance registration required.

“Gilded New York” Gallery Tours *

Saturday, February 15 at 3:30pm and 5:00pm 

Learn about love in the Gilded Age during a guided tour with guest curator Jeannine Falino. 

Advance registration is required by 8pm on Friday, February 14, but visitors may sign up on the day of the tour if space allows.

Get an insider’s look at City as Canvas: Graffiti Art from the Martin Wong Collection

Sign your name — or your sweetheart’s name — in style! Get an introduction to the stylized writing that grew out of the street art movement with New York graffiti artist George “Sen One” Morillo.
