view more less of this reviewThe whole point for most people in NYC on the 4th of July is to see the world famous fireworks right? The description of this event states you will have amazing views of the fireworks over the Hudson. What they don't tell you is that they have ONE viewing area on the top deck for about maybe 50 people but there were like 300 people on the boat. Before the boat moved we tried to get on the top deck but it was "reserved" (for who, I don't know). So we had to stand post all night at the front of the boat on the 1st level in hopes that we would be able to see them from there. BUT the boat was turned with the back facing the fireworks, even though there was NO WAY to stand on the back of the boat. So the boat would occasionaly sway one way so we could see maybe 5 fireworks then the boat would move again so we found ourselves literally running from side to side on the boat to get a view. It was ridiculous! People were very upset! And don't get me started on the "open bar" with ONE bartender. It took the first hour to get ONE drink. Same with the food, which had the lines crossing and people getting irritated. I never did get to see the DJ or the dance floor due to the amount of people on the boat. They over packed the boat and I'm pretty sure it exceeded the legal capacity.

star this review starred report as inappropriatethey started LATE. the boat itself was ok, but not that big and i believe they overbooked it. it took too long to get a drink. i wanted to eat, but wanted to see the fireworks more. afterwards there was nothing left. i met a woman who was a lot of fun, who told me i hadn't missed a thing! to add insult to injury to make up for lost time the captain started to pull away from the display before it had ended. as i was leaving i asked a staff member how many tickets had been sold. she told me 140. yeah right i said, 140 per square inch. we had a good laugh at that. at least i got some good pictures.
