Melissa Walker has a gorgeous voice and a great stage presence. If you like Jazz vocals, and jazz standards with an amazing band, then I highly recommend it. I was curious as to why Christian McBride, such an accomplished bass player would be playing in her band, until I got there. Christian Mcbride is Melissa Walker's husband-that explained so much! Adam Rodgers and all the other musicians were amazing, and she gave them all plenty of opportunity to shine.
Quotes & Highlights
- "Melissa Walker stakes her claim as one of the most sensitive singers of her generation."--Billboard
With her gorgeous tone, three-octave range, and impeccable phrasing, Melissa Walker has won kudos in concerts across several continents. Critics agree this brainy beauty has the goods to be included among today's most compelling vocalists. Performing music from her much-anticipated upcoming release entitled ‘In the Middle of It All,’ Walker gathers a potent mix that combines her powerful yet intimate style, with the arranging pallet of Grammy Award winning bassist Christian McBride's funkiness and the world-influenced beats of longtime band-mate and musical director, drummer Clarence Penn.
