Bursting with elaborate designs and kaleidoscopic color arrangements, this exhibit in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at The New York Botanical Garden will delight nature lovers and enchant guests of all ages who love the beauty of nature. With the theme Key West Contemporary, you can step out of the bustling city and straight into the Florida Keys, where the dramatic beauty of a flourishing tropical garden is amplified by vibrant architecture that reflects this particular island's charm and ambience. The Enid A. Haupt Conservatory's sprawling glasshouse galleries are transformed into a modernist Key West estate garden, where an effusion of orchids -- including Vanda (rainbow orchids), Dendrobium (cane orchids) and Cymbidium (Asian corsage orchids) -- bloom among serene geometric reflecting pools, soaring angular pergolas and sleek benches. The Kiddie Cruise was super fun and full of activities for children of all ages. I took a 4 yr old and a 9 yr old and they had a blast! It was 2 floors packed with great activities - Puppet Show, Magic Show, Princess/Pirate Performaces, Arts & Crafts, Face Painting, Tattoos, Balloon Sculpting, Dancing, etc. The packed lunch was pretty good (sandwich, cut up apples, potato chips and cookies). They offer unlimited soft drinks on board. Adults can really enjoy the views of lower Manhattan, NJ, Statue of Liberty, etc. Make sure to pick up the Schedule of activities before you board. I would also recommend that you arrive at least 30-40 mins early so that you can meet the Captain, get pictures with the Princesses and Pirates AND get a good table on the bottom floor (has AC). Also, there is really no difference between the VIP and Regular ticket - you get the same as people with regular tickets. This 2-hour cruise was well worth the price and I highly recommend to anyone with children.
This cruise is ideal for children ages 3–9. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Every passenger gets a bagged lunch and unlimited juice or soda.
No peanut butter will be served due to the high incidence of peanut allergies in children.
