The familiar story of Little Red Riding Hood gets a fresh spin in Jen McVetty's feisty but family-friendly retelling of the classic fairy tale. In this play-within-a-play, a bored stagehand in a bad Little Red Riding Hood production decides to take matters into his own hands and invites Little Red, the leader of a motorcycle gang called the Riding Hoods, to take over the lead role. While the stagehand distracts the original play's stuffy narrator, Little Red gives all the characters (even Granny) an ultra-cool makeover and tries to rewrite the story, leading to a clash of characters from both versions of the play that only the benevolent Fairy Godbrothers can straighten out. You've never seen "Little Red" and the Big Bad Wolf quite like this.

The play was cute, I can see why it was shown at 10:30 on a Saturday, it's a cartoon. The casts was enthusiastic, but I kept imagining Wile E. Coyote whenever the wolf was on stage. I need to be a little more discriminating, not everything is Dog sees God.
