Description
Thursday, March 1, 2012: Pereyra, Teubal and Barenboim Tango Trio with special guest Valerie Kuehne
Based in New York, this trio has a new take on Argentine Tango, infusing the traditional sound of tango with jazz harmony. Teubal’s virtuoso piano and Barenboim clarinets are the perfect frame for Pereyra’s anguished and romantic interpretations of traditional tangos that get refreshed in their decidedly modern arrangements.
Friday, March 2, 2012: Gustavo Casenave & Pedro Giraudo
Casenave worked as Musical Director, pianist, composer, producer and arranger of multiple International Tango shows, including: Tango Fire, Forever Tango, Eternal Tango Orchestra, Painting Tango, Pintando Musica,Tango Connection and others. He also directs his own jazz ensembles, performing at numerous venues worldwide.
Originally from Córdoba Argentina, Pedro Giraudo moved to New York City in 1996. Since then he has become a highly versatile bassist, composer and arranger, performing in a wide variety of musical projects, both his own award winning Pedro Giraudo Jazz Orchestra and as a member of several prominent ensembles, ranging from tango to jazz.
Saturday, March 3, 1012: Amapola Dry
Amapola is mystery, passion and vaudeville. Music from the planetary suburbs - about love and disappointments. Of mixed races by nature, Amapola Dry music drinks from the corners of the world to create its own and personal folk, a merge of different tendencies and cultures. Tango is the link that strings together music coming from far-off, remote places.Live on the stage, Amapola Dry embodies a mysterious, sensual staging. A very heady, pleasant atmosphere is created by the machines and guitars, along with the voices and the sound of bandoneón. It’s a journey through several and different emotions and states of mind.
Vegetarian dinner options are available on site.
Beverages are not included. There is a cash bar at the venue.
Menu and performers current at time of publication, but are subject to change without notice.
