"Love's Labour" is lost when four young noblemen, foolishly sworn to chastity, are led on a merry goose-chase by a lovely, sharp-tongued French princess and her ladies-in-waiting, until a surprise twist overthrows everyone's best-laid plans. Love's Labour's Lost was the play Queen Elizabeth I chose to see for a Christmas celebration 400 years ago -- now performed with lusty abandon by a celebrated cast direct from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.

This was Shakespeare at it very best.
The characters were extraordinary.
The costumes beyond runway quality. Fabulous.
The music, with traditional instruments wonderful. Well the tupan, a Bulgarian drum was traditional, but not in England.
During intermission the gorgeous lasses playing the leading role came around with fruit and cheese for the few in the audience.
I've been to London many times and always to their renowned theater, but I never saw the Globe Shakespeare company before.
This is an absolutely DO NOT MISS production. It's the best performance I've seen in the last 10 year.
The theater crew was immaculate and were perfect hosts.
Criticism? Balance? OK, It was a very long show and if it had lasted another 15 minutes I would probably have croaked from laughing so hard.

Beautifully staged. Even the lobby was decorated. Live minstrels, lots of slapstick, and a hilarious finale.

First-rate production, and well worth the considerable time--and finding the venue! Only consideration--the Shakespearean English is not slowed down for an American audience, and even my British husband had to strain to catch the wordplay--but wow, that strain was worth it! A beautiful production, truly...

We loved this show! Top-notch Shakespeare, great actors, wonderful rapport with the audience, costumes, 'puppets'--fun story, totally enjoyable. I just can't spring for the 4th star because of the poor acoustics and uncomfortable seats in the Pace auditorium...otherwise, LLL is highly recommended!!! Go see it!

Description

Don’t miss Love’s Labour’s Lost, one of Shakespeare’s wildest and wittiest comedies—the play Queen Elizabeth I chose to see for a Christmas celebration 400 years ago—performed with lusty abandon by a celebrated cast direct from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.

"Love’s Labour" is lost when four young noblemen, foolishly sworn to chastity, are led on a merry goose-chase by a lovely, sharp-tongued French princess and her ladies-in-waiting, until a surprise twist overthrows everyone’s best-laid plans.

Love’s Labour’s Lost features misdirected love letters, hypocritical political leaders exposed to ridicule, silly disguises and archery.
