We had a ball! We were originally disappointed because it was raining. But once we got on the boat and took our seats, we enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. The host was highly energetic and provided so many fun facts about NYC & NJ. He even shared free things to do. The added bonus was that it stopped raining and we were able to take sunset pictures of Lady Liberty. I highly recommend this to tourists and native New Yorkers, you'll have a ball!

This was a beautiful thing to do. I had a friend visiting from Louisiana and it was a perfect way for her to get an idea of what Manhattan was all about from the perimeter. A great night, informative, fun and patriotic. A must do!

If you sign up for this event beware! If you have any experience like ours you might not get what you think you paid for! I signed up earlier in the week for a 7:45 PM boat cruise and was really looking forward to seeing the sunset with my husband. We traveled in from Long Island on one of our only free Saturday nights without our kids. My confirmation # with Goldstar included specific instructions about showing up at least 1/2 hour early. It is really difficult to find street parking anywhere near the seaport, so we paid to park in a parking lot ($20/hour). When we got to the Circle Line ticket window at 6:55, ahead of the time we needed to be there, the attendant informed us that the "cruise was sold out" and that our confirmation with Goldstar was not a confirmation with Circle Line. They refused to give us tickets for 7:45 and said we'd have to wait until 9PM. We asked to speak to a manager who told us the same thing. The gentleman at the next window was yelling at the attendant and it sounded like he was having a similar issue.

Leaving at 9 would have meant no sunset and would have messed up our dinner plans for later that evening. We were disappointed that Goldstar would do business with a company that really seems not to care about customers and that seemed to be trying to get away with such a blatant case of bait and switch.

The tour actually begins at 7:45-8:00, boarding starts at 7:30, but even though it isn't a full 90-minutes, but more like 60, the sites are AMAZING and it is WELL worth it! The crew is fun, and the cruise goes much higher than Lower Manhattan, so You get to see the Statue of Liberty, cross under three bridges and check out the wonderful skyline. They were also sensitive to when the sun was setting, so that we could get great photos (from all sides of the boat) around the Statue of Liberty... also, while just cruising they had music on and created sort of a "party" atmosphere :) overall REALLY RECOMMEND it!

The cruise was a nice way to spend part of the evening even for newyorkers. Beautiful weather really helps. We had no problems getting the tickets with Goldstar confirmation.
Showing up early and getting in line to board really pays off- there isn't enough seats on the open deck. People stand along the railing, and even if you have a seat, from time to time you are presented with someone's backside rather than city views. The guide was funny, but half of the narration were facts of his personal and family life. Music was nice and, kind of, on the background, not too loud or annoying. The city views at sunset and in the dark are, of course, magnificent. The crew gives plenty of photo opportunities. All in all it was a pleasant experience.
