I would have loved this event if the speakers spoke more clearly...it was very difficult to understand many of the speakers.

I'm not a big poetry buff but attended this event several years ago and decided check it out again. While we enjoyed it, we enjoyed the variety of "readers" and peoms more last time. Most of the poems this time were serious and I would have liked a bit more variety. All the celebrity readers were good but Dianne Reeves really stole the show. She was magnificent!

It was wonderful to be a part of this worthwhile event and to be in the company of luminaries including Meryl Streep, Jonathan Demme and the others. It was difficult to relate to some of the poetry choices, but I enjoyed being in the venue and would certainly do it again.

I really enjoyed the selection of "readers" and their choice of poems, however some of them were difficult to hear. Would recommend as an annual event.

The space where this event was held (Avery Fisher Hall) was not ideal - poor acoustics, tiny seats, and not intimate-feeling at all.

Acoustics were faulty - it was difficult to hear many of the speakers. Liz Smith, Diane Reeves, Katie Couric and Meryl Streep were easy to understand. Some poetry was arcane and inpenetrable. Not suitable for oral presentation.

This event was a gift for poetry lovers. My only criticism is that Avery Fisher Hall's sound set up for speakers was not good. Too much reverb made the spoken word hard to understand.

This was not only a unique New York experience, but the seats were fantastic for only $20 a piece! Each reciter was wonderful, and it was only topped by having Merryl Streep be one of them. I highly recommend this to all Goldstar members.

Seats were great. Venue-Lincoln Center always easy & convenient, park indoors, cafe for a light meal. But we were thrilled to have such good seats and ejoyed the celebraties, their comments and reading of poems.

I really liked this event. It made the stars that were there seem very down to earth, like they were there just to read you poetry. Their selections were very inspiring as well.
