Ever wondered what your dog was thinking? Written by Australian playwright Christopher Johnson, The Dog Logs tell the stories of eleven different dogs, brought vividly to life in monologue form through a unique mix of humor, tragedy, poignancy and romance. Audiences get a glimpse into canine lives that are every bit as rich and complex as human lives as they negotiate love, friendship, revenge, violence -- and even sex. Performed by three actors and a live musician, the result is highly theatrical, extremely funny, at times very moving, and thoroughly unique. Among the breeds is a tough Rottweiler with neighbor problems, an aging mongrel who discovers love late in life, a Greyhound who might be too clever for his own good, an extremely suave Afghan Hound who's very proud of his studly abilities, a police dog who finds himself up against some abhorrent lawbreakers, a Kelpie with an interesting herding problem and a Beagle with attitude.

Dear Producer: This was a terrible show. Why would you choose to focus on death/cruelty/sadness in 6 of the 18 skits? I noticed you had 0 skits about the loving interactions between pets and people. Have you ever had a pet? I didnt storm out only out of respect for the actors. Thanks for making me think of the mortality of my pet, and for ruining my day with sadness, and for making me look stupid for vouching for off broadway theatre to my GF. Needless to say we immediately cancelled our tickets to Oy! (your other show) and will never see another of your plays (as well as posting bad reviews everywhere we can)Written on May 15 2012
Please burn this play, and never perform it again.
Also, you should close the doors when the play starts. You literally let in 20 people in the first 20 minutes, including an old lady in a walker. So unprofessional.

My Dad is visiting from Phoenix and he is a dog lover. The actors that portrayed the dogs did an excellent job. Additional kudos to the Rottweiler, Greyhound, and Lab.Written on May 09 2012

- “The insight into the minds of these particular dogs, coupled with several musical interludes, ensures that not only do you walk away from The Dog Logs with an amused grin on your face, but that you will never underestimate the character of dogs or look at your dog the same way again.” --Buzzcuts
