Experience an amazing night of high-flying feats and stunning imagery from Cirque du Soleil. This magical romance, inspired by Shakespeare's The Tempest, takes you to a mysterious island where goddesses walk the land and the rhythm of life is ruled by the cycles of the moon. The daughter of Queen Prospera is undergoing the rituals of her coming-of-age ceremony when a group of young men, caught up in a storm, become stranded on the island. Prospera's daughter falls in love with one of the brave sailors, but the two lovers must overcome many trials and setbacks before finding peace together. As the story unfolds, the dazzling arts of Cirque du Soleil illustrate the tale. The island world of Amaluna bursts to life with jugglers, aerial performers, dancers, unicyclists and much more. went this past week-end the whole thing starts at a really cool bar called Fontana's it was in this dark and kinda spooky basement. I was with a group of three friends and they sat us down with these two other people from New Jersey. I didn't know what to expect and all of a sudden it started. And it was like we were transported into a totally different time, the late 1800's and the bar with it's dark lighting totally made sense then we were given a task to try and solve this murder that really happened in this same neighborhood, like more than 100 years ago, so we go around and we met all these characters and we had to interrogate them. It was so much fun! We were in the center of the action with these fantastic actors who never once broke character. Funny and very moving at the end.
Im considering attending their other show a 1970's theme and one they are doing in Brooklyn about Prohibition. I'm definitely going to those as well. Live IN Theater really doing something unique.
Very unique experience that only NY can offer.

I experienced TH RYAN CASE 1873 this past weekend. Bottom line: it was engaging, very funny, smart (hard to solve even though I felt like our team got closest :) and the acting was AWESOME!
Oh yeah AND you get a cocktail with it. Run, don't walk.
