OY! is a collection of eight 10-minute comedies, each illustrating the meaning of a Yiddish word -- with story lines including the untold stories of Eve and Adam, Einstein's demanding mother, the divorce trial of God and the human, the use of unkosher food as an aphrodisiac, and three men in a sauna who communicate using only the word "oy." Appealing to audiences of all faiths and all backgrounds, OY! is a tribute to the absurdity and comedy of the condition universal to everyone: that of being human. Learn More
There are many restaurants in the theater district- all kinds of food and price range. Just read the menu outside and make your decision. There are lots of chain restaurants- with higher prices than you may be accustomed to- but you are in the city- be adventurous, try something unique. The Trip to Bountiful dining • Sep 09 2013 star this tip starred
The weather was warm. I wore slack set. Have noticed New York audiences, especially at matinees, dress in all styles- jeans, suits, sandals, sneakers. They dress up more in the evening, but you still see the casually dressed theater-goer..The Trip to Bountiful dress • Sep 09 2013 star this tip starred

We had seats in Row L on the right wing. These were not as bad as others have said they were. We didn't miss anything. Clearly the mainstay of the cast was Cicely Tyson. Vanessa Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr. framed her performance allowing her to tap emotional chords while transporting the audience into a sentimental and reflective frame of mind. The staging was minimalist and effective giving emphasis to the performance of the actors. Condola Rashad and Tom Wopat gave equally impactful perfomances in supporting Ms. Tyson's quest to return to Bountiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the journey ourselves. Thanks Goldstar for another great outing!
