Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Neil Simon follows the fish-out-of-water adventures of 20-year-old Eugene Jerome, the naive and lovable Brooklyn kid from Brighton Beach Memoirs, as he arrives in Biloxi, Mississippi for basic training in 1943. That's where he encounters an odd and eclectic group of fellow recruits -- not to mention a sadistic drill sergeant -- and has his first tentative experiences with love. Now in its 10th anniversary season, Repertory East Playhouse stages the show that starred Matthew Broderick in both its Tony-winning Broadway run and the 1988 film adaptation. Learn More

Quotes & Highlights
- The original 1980 Broadway production of Amadeus ran for nearly three years and more than 1,100 performances and won five Tony Awards.
- The 1984 film adaptation won eight Oscars including Best Picture of the year.
Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play and the Academy Award for Best Film, this provocative work tells the tale of one of history’s most memorable rivalries: Antonio Salieri and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This complex exploration of human emotion and rivalry, and the contrast between Saleiri’s malevolent intent and Mozart’s playful genius makes this theatre piece both thought provoking and wonderfully entertaining.
Directed by Ovington Michael Owston, Amadeus stars Daniel Lench, Dan Sykes, Amber Schwinn, Bess Fanning, Kyle Johnson, Harry Bennett, Rod Oden, John Morris, Carole Catanzaro, and TG Cody.
