He's famed for his collections of children's poems (Where the Sidewalk Ends) but in Shel Silverstein's darkly comic and decidedly adult world of Saturday Night Live-style sketches, you'll see revenge taken on the guy who invented the phrase "have a nice day," witness a tale of friendship, murder and vaudeville with only one very "meat and potatoes" line of dialogue, and watch two ladies of the night try to rhyme every few words. The author's imaginative world covers a wide range of topics, but they're all tied together by his clever and witty wordplay. Learn More

A play about Jewish culture as seen from the eyes of two men on the dating scene. The theater is small and intimate. The acting was good overall, but found the character actors were outstanding. The content of the play was a little cliched. Was not "wowed" by the play, but was fun to watch.
Jewtopia, written by Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson, is a comedy where stereotypes collide, cultures clash and chaos ensues! The production, sponsored by Geotechnologies Inc., and directed by REP newcomer Marlowe Weisman, is the longest running comedy ever to come out of Los Angeles.
Jewtopia_ tells the story of two 30 year old single men, Chris O’Connell and Adam Lipschitz. Chris, a gentile, wants to marry a Jewish girl so he’ll never have to make another decision. Adam Lipschitz, a Jew, wants to marry a Jewish girl to please his family, but can’t get a date to save his life. After meeting at a Jewish singles mixer, Adam and Chris form a secret pact. Chris promises that he will help Adam find the Jewish girl of his dreams and show him “Jewtopia”, but only if Adam will help Chris shed his gentile-ness and bring him undercover into the Jewish world.
“We have been waiting for two years to do this show. And trust me, it’s laugh out loud funny. This is one comedy you don’t want to miss”, exclaims REP Co-Artistic Director, Ovington Michael Owston.
