Bought this to plan some special time with my 10 year old daughter and her Dad. I bought for specific dates, did not call to make reservation ahead of time, assumed if you are buying for a specific time/date, then, that is what you are getting. They almost were not allowed on, til my daughter gave them sad eyes.
My husband is an experienced fisherman...his take was that the bait provided was small and sub-par; the skipper's wife and the some of the crew were fishing (overhead casting, which you are not allowed to do) off the back of the boat; and, for a 6 hour trip, they did not travel far. My husband asked why they were staying in one area and was told, we will fish ahere as long as they are catching fish.
Well, most of the fish were not keepers, mackeral, etc. He would not recommend it.

The Planets aligned and the Fish Gods smiled down on us. 42 set sail out to the deep blue with rods, hooks and sinkers, ready to do battle with finny ocean creatures. The captain set us on several spot out there and the gang started pulling in sand dabs, bass and sculpin. Yes we caught a lot of fish, ate super breakfast sandwiches and had the best burgers. The crew was first rate, eager to help anyone in need to tie on hooks, unhook fish, undo the inevitable tangles all while keeping the boat clean and safe. I say it was a great trip and all of the people on board went home happy. Yes, I'll book more trips on Goldstar because they are a first rate organization!

Bought this as a gift for my husband and 10 year old son. They went out the day after Christmas and had a wonderful time. Saw lots of sea lions and dolphins on the way. Ended up catching some red snapper, but were all too small to keep. Also pulled in a few sculpin. They had a wonderful time and said the crew was very helpful and experienced.

Davey's Locker Sportfishing offers fishing trips open to individuals, families, and all sizes of groups. Davey's Locker provides everything you need to make your trip a great fishing experience. Captains and crews provide years of fishing experience that is invaluable in helping to make each outing relaxing and successful.

Participants do not need to be experienced fishermen to successfully catch fish. With experienced crew always nearby any questions or help with rigging is immediately taken care of. Trips in which hundreds of fish are caught are quite common and trophy sized fish from several species are available year around. Some species of fish encountered include halibut to 40 pounds, yellowtail to 35 pounds, sand bass and calico bass to 10 pounds, barracuda to 10 pounds, bonito to 15 pounds, tuna of all types to 60 pounds, red snapper to 10 pounds, giant sheepshead to 25 pounds, and dozens of other species.

Fish cleaning services are available onboard for a small fee and catch-and-release is also an option for those not wanting to take fish home.
