More Details
With six lead vocalists, harmonies in every combination, and instrumentals played in such tight synchrony it almost seems unreal, you’ll wonder if the members of Cherryholmes were born to play together. And in a way, they were. Less than a decade ago, this amped-up, classic-bluegrass-and-then-some band was just dad Jere, mom Sandy Lee, and four young kids. Flash-forward to 2008 and meet Cherryholmes: Jere on upright bass, Sandy Lee on mandolin and clawhammer banjo, Cia Leigh on banjo, B.J. on fiddle, Skip on guitar, and Molly Kate on fiddle – two time GRAMMY-Award nominees, International Bluegrass Music Association’s Entertainers of the Year, and one of the hottest tickets in the world of bluegrass.
Performances by this American Bluegrass family feature twin fiddles, Irish step dancing, classic country yodeling, and old-time claw hammer.
