Chopin specialist Brian Ganz, famed for his decade-long quest to publicly perform all of the composer's 200-plus works, returns to the National Philharmonic for a concert featuring the Polish master's Piano Concerto No. 1. Also from Poland, conductor Michal Dworzynski leads the orchestra in the Bajka (Fairytale) opera overture by his countryman Stanislaw Moniuszko, while Mozart's popular Symphony No. 39 closes out the evening. In writing about Maryland native Ganz, The Washington Post says there isn't much about Chopin that he doesn't know, and notes, "His delight and wonder in this music seem to grow, apparently without bounds, as time goes on."
