Billed as "a new old-fashioned musical," The Ghost of Gershwin is set in the Brooklyn of today but harkens back to the 1930s, a time when artsy tenants filled apartment buildings and anyone might burst into song or dance at the drop of a hat. A romantic new musical that features all original songs, The Ghost of Gershwin centers on a struggling young composer who's haunted by the music of George Gershwin -- until he encounters the famous composer's actual ghost, that is. The play is very cute but I felt the casting was off. The men were funny but I think the Bernard character was too old and not masculine enough to be a ladies man. The women need to work on their accents. Overall I still enjoyed the play.
