Some plays can be summed up in an image, others a phrase, but only one masterpiece can be summarized with a scream: "Stelllaaa!!!" That masterpiece, of course, is A Streetcar Named Desire, the Pulitzer-winning drama by Tennessee Williams, which was famously adapted into a feature film featuring Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh. Set during a steamy summer in New Orleans' French Quarter, a vulnerable Blanche DuBois seeks shelter at the apartment of her pregnant sister Stella and Stella's husband Stanley. Fragile Blanche and brutish Stanley immediately clash, and tensions only escalate when the two are left alone in the house after Stella heads to the hospital to give birth. The Group Rep presents A Streetcar Named Desire directed by L. Flint Esquerra. Learn More

The play is very cute but I felt the casting was off. The men were funny but I think the Bernard character was too old and not masculine enough to be a ladies man. The women need to work on their accents. Overall I still enjoyed the play.
