With their marriage crumbling, a husband and wife acting team try to hold their family's theater company together long enough to get legendary film director Frank Capra to cast them in his film remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. But between a pregnant ingénue and a surprise visit from their daughter, things go horribly and comically wrong. I was primed to enjoy E-Love because when my date and I arrived at the theater they were passing out free chocolate and champagne! Might have been because it was Valentine's Day, but I was told that one drink is included with each ticket.Written on Feb 15 2010
The show itself had good pacing, was funny, and had a cool set. The theater was very small but a nice place to see a show. I did hear a few crickets chirping, however.
I liked the chemistry between the two stars, who engaged in rapid-fire conversation for nearly the entire 1:10 minute play. A few scenes were too long, but not many. At times the jokes were obvious one-liners:
"Marriage, it's the leading cause of divorce."
And:
"They say women fake orgasms. Well men fake entire relationships."
I had fun seeing this play and I wasn't the only one laughing. Great for dates (third or more) or for friends who like talking about relationships.
Disclosure: I received free tickets to see this event from Goldstar.
