Written on Jun 29 2011I concur with the other reviewers who liked, but did not love, this event.
I loved the handouts! The food vendors provided generous and delicious food samples and the VIP swag bag was well worth the $20 ticket. If I had just sampled the food, taken my bag and left, I would have had been completely happy.
However, I did, unsuccessfully try to stay and make an event of it. Other than 1 or 2 presentations, there really wasn't much to do. I had hoped to walk away a better informed and organized shopper. Instead, I picked up a few good tips on frugal websites and that was about it. Not a good investment of time (part of my frugal bliss equation).
The Bargain Babe is charming and I really think that the event would benefit by more of her presence and perhaps a frugal based discussion moderated by her.
The intention was a good one but the overall event fell short of expectations.

Written on Jun 27 2011LAME. We drove all the way from Montrose for this and spent literally 10 minutes total there. MAYBE ten booths, more like five and the biggest waste of time I have EVER paid to attend. We waited longer in line even with prepaid tickets than we were there. There were no directional signs so we wandered around Canoga Park HS for a while just trying to find where the event was being held. Absolutely NOTHING I couldn't have done myself in less than ten minutes at home. Don't waste your time or money.
