Fans of interrogation scenes in Law & Order and other cop dramas will appreciate this play where the stakes are even higher than a murder in Central Park West. Based on the true story of the failed bombing attempt of an Israeli airliner in 1986, Lucile Lichtblau's play The English Bride has only three characters: an Israeli agent, an Englishwoman and her Arab lover. As the agent tries to get to the bottom of the terrorist attempt, you'll learn things about the characters that you never quite expected. See this play at The Road on Magnolia and hang out in that hazy area between truth and lies.

Despite L.A. Times review ripping this show, it proved to address so many issues so very well, from sacrifices, to economic disparities, to love ... Laurie O'Brien, the lead, moved me in her portrayal of Anne, giving the role so much depth and nuances. The reviewer for the Times had something wrong with him the night he saw this play.
