With their marriage crumbling, a husband and wife acting team try to hold their family's theater company together long enough to get legendary film director Frank Capra to cast them in his film remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. But between a pregnant ingénue and a surprise visit from their daughter, things go horribly and comically wrong. My kids enjoyed the play but the experience as a whole was less than acceptable. First, after driving for a hour in traffic to get there, we were told that our Gold Star pre-purchased tickets had been released and we would not be able to see the play and but would be welcomed next week. I could not imagine telling a 2,4,7, and 10 year old we would not be seeing a play we have been waiting to see for at least a month and a half. A nice gentleman went to see if we would be accomodated and I followed to find out myself. I was met by a very rude young lady whose attitude was rude, nasty, condescending, sarcastice, and disrespectful. Instead of her apologizing for the inconvenience or trying to accomodate, she sarcastically told me that if I purchased my tickets that far in advance, I should have been there early and my tickets would not have been released. Because of this interaction, I was not able to fully enjoy the experience as I was so upset that a patron would be treated this way. Not sure if it was the fact thatI did not fit the bill of those typically taking their children to see theatre or the fact that I did not pay full price, but either way she was rude. The kinf gentlemen went to speak to another woman and they were able to accomodate us quite well. My kids enjoyed the performance. Especially The singing blueberry fella. The pancake party after was a bit cramped as there were plenty of guests. I suggest taking the part to the parking lot under a canopy or renting long tables and chairs so that everyone can be seated. Many people were standing as they ate the pancakes. The craft areas were crowded and kids were reaching over and around each other to get materials. Overall we all liked it, unfortunately the young lady at the door made the experience less than memorable. Goldstar and the theatre should make it a point to mention whether ot not tickets will be released. Personally I fell that if you purchased tickets they should be there when you arrive.

My 6 and 8-year old daughters loved this show, and I enjoyed it too. Many laugh-out-loud moments, a couple catchy songs, and the show's themes are carried beyond the stage to a pancake and blueberries party afterwards! The kids enjoyed meeting the cast, and it was hard to pull them
away from the arts and crafts projects offered... It was great fun, we'll watch for more productions like this one!

Great show for my 8 year old daughter, but no so much for my 4 year old son as he got bored part way through. Otherwise, very good production with great songs and voices. The activities afterwords were fun.

Rain might ruin eleven-year-old budding artist Priscilla Penelope Periwinkle’s idyllic notion of a relaxing vacation in Maine, and her “bratty” little brother Billy and his pesky, pancake-lovin’ dog Roscoe are making their first day at the quaint old cottage anything but perfect; when she finds some very strange crayons that send them all to a magical sunny beach, things start looking up ... at least until they meet one very big, and very hungry, lobster.  But thanks to Billy’s quick thinking, it could still end up being Priscilla’s Perfect Day!
