World-renowned tap dancer Savion Glover (Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk) comes to the Valley Performing Arts Center's Great Hall. Performing with his new dance band, Bare Soundz, Glover pays tribute to the percussive medley of flamenco through the relationship between flamenco music and tap dancing as song. Glover began as a tap dancing prodigy from the moment he made his Broadway debut at age 12 in the The Tap Dance Kid. He went on to star in the 1989 film Tap with Gregory Hines. Most recently he co-choreographed and was the motion-capture model for the character of Mumble in Happy Feet. Glover and Bare Soundz perform using only the sounds of their feet, without additional accompaniment.

Valley Performing Arts Center presents Barbara Cook in concert at the Great Hall. A Tony, Grammy and Drama Desk Award-winner and a member of the Theatre Hall of Fame, Cook was Broadway's favorite ingénue and, of late, has been enjoying a career as a concert and recording artist. Throughout her esteemed career, Cook's silverly soprano has retained its pure tone and warm presence, to much critical and popular acclaim. In 2010, at the age of 83, Cook earned a Tony nomination for her performance in Sondheim on Sondheim on Broadway. She has performed with a number of symphony orchestras, in cabaret settings and at such esteemed venues as Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center and London's Royal Albert Hall. Learn More

These three tap dancers were outstanding and Savion was certainly top notch. The theater is always wonderful and the sound quality of these taps was some of the best I've heard. Many African-American children came out for this performance which was a wonderful thing that I have not had the experience of seeing.

The show was really great, a bit short. It ran without intermission. I think the length though was really perfect.
