report as inappropriateThis was a weekend trip to celebrate my 55th birthday. Seeing this play was the perfect finish to a fun Saturday celebration. We laughed, cried, cheered, appluaded and throughly enjoyed this wonderful play. I highly recommend it to anyone of any age.
report as inappropriateThe theater is very simple, very basic. Simple padded individual chairs for seating. When we sat down we thought that given the very unpretentious nature of this theater, that the show would most likely be unimpressive as well. The show we saw here, Black Angels over Tuskegee was fantastic. It was powerful, memorable, educational, moving and enlightening. We took our 8 and 10 year old boys, who also very much enjoyed it and, we hope, learned something from it. This drama is written and enacted with incredible precision, spirit, emotion and timing. It is so well done that one forgets one is watching live theater as one becomes thoroughly imbued with the story and characters of this important reenactment of life, war, death, segregation, integration, inspiration, heroism, loss, triumph and culture of this period in American and world history. We attended six shows on and off Broadway during our recent 10 day stay in New York. This was by far the best and unlike anything else we have seen. All in attendance gave the performance a standing and emotional ovation.
report as inappropriateit was a great trip to NYC which was truly enhanced by attendance at this superb play. The actors were great! When one died towards the end of the play, there wasn't a dry eye in the place. It was quite action filled for such a small stage.
