Now entering its second decade of great performances, this acclaimed a cappella chamber choir brings Icelandic composer Sigurour Saevarsson's powerful and haunting O Magnum Mysterium to Chicagoland for its U.S. premiere. This evening-long salute to the genius of Eastern European composers is also set to include pieces by Arvo Part and John Tavener, along with German and Scandinavian favorites for the holiday season. Led by music director Dennis Smith and situated in the western suburbs, Acappellago's performed throughout the area, including singing the national anthem for the Cubs, White Sox and more. Learn More

Another glorious outdoors Shakespeare production by First Folio. Highly recommended. Cymbeline is transplanted to Civil War-era West Virginia, and it works fine. Nearly everyone in the cast assists in the music, and they are first-rate musicians as well as first-rate actors.
Adapted by First Folio Theatre’s executive director and Jeff Award-nominee David Rice
Music and Lyrics by David Rice and First Folio’s resident composer Michael Keefe
Michael Goldberg (The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe, Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream at First Folio Theatre) directs this “Shakespeare Under the Stars” production.
