Ragtime paints a nostalgic and powerful portrait of life in turn-of-the-century America. Based on E.L. Doctorow's distinguished novel, Ragtime intertwines three distinct stories that poignantly illustrate history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and love and hate. My sister, niece and I enjoyed the performance. The costumes were lovely. It was interesting to see how the props were used to present all three ghost. It was very effective. The actors marvelously brought the spirit of Christmas in their rendition of an old favorite Christmas classic. It was a great way to start the season with love ones.

This children's verison of "A Christmas Carol" was an enjoyable experience. Being a retired school administrator it was a pleasure to watch this performance that kept the students interested for 75-90 min. The actors appeared to have fun and answered questions from the students in attendance during the Q&A after the performance.
It was an enjoyable time for all age groups even those children who are called senior citizens.

I took my children and glad I did. there were a lot of children at the show but they were very good an didn't disruped the show at all. If u have seen the Christmas Carol it will be as excepted.

A popular holiday tradition entertaining hundreds of children and families each year is back once again this Christmas season at Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace.
A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, the miserly old man, who receives a Christmas Eve visit from the ghost of his partner, Jacob Marley, warning him to mend his selfish ways. During the night three spirits appear before Scrooge, showing him visions of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future, finally revealing the possible results of his unloving, uncaring life. He promises to change as he's not the man he was. This all time favorite play with music is a holiday treat for the whole family.
