Based on the memoirs of the famed burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee, Gypsy, chronicles the rise of young Louise as she is thrust into stardom by her overbearing stage mother, Mama Rose. With book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, the show contains such hits as "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Let me Entertain You" and "Together Wherever We Go." Lauded by critics as one of the greatest musicals of all time, Gypsy stars Klea Blackhurst as Mama Rose. Learn More

The production was well staged and well designed. The voices were great. The characters were a bit two-dimensional, with the exception of James Rank's turn as Aaron Foxx. His performance of "I Miss the Music" was the most genuine and honest moment of an uneven show and made the show worthwhile.Written on Apr 28 2009

Lots of fun, excellent performances, the seats were on the far left side of the theater, so I missed a bit, but very funny show.Written on Mar 23 2009

I enjoyed this musical although it started off a little slow. By the time intermission was over and we were back in our seats, the mystery was almost solved and the jokes were funny. I didn't like the idea of the "fake" cigarettes. Not necessary, in my opinion. I love this theater and plan to come often. Every seat is a good seat and it's easy to get to the theater since it's right off I88.Written on Apr 13 2009

More Information About Curtains
Description

A “play within a play”, Curtains takes place at Boston’s Colonial Theatre in 1959. It’s the opening night of “Robin’ Hood of the Old West” and this new musical could be a smash hit, if it weren’t for the show’s incredibly untalented leading lady. When she is murdered during the curtain call, Lieutenant Frank Cioffi is summoned to conduct an investigation. The lure of the theater soon becomes irresistible to the stage-struck detective and he finds himself just as dedicated to making the show a hit, as to solving the murder.
