Drury Lane Theatre presents Hairspray, the hit musical based on John Waters' cult classic film. The Broadway musical won eight Tony Awards in 2003 and inspired a new major motion picture musical. Set in 1960s Baltimore, Hairspray tells the story of Tracy Turnblad, a misfit teenager who becomes a local celebrity by dancing on TV's Corny Collins Show. Tracy's love of dancing leads her to become an unlikely heroine, triumphing over both snotty teen queens and racial segregation. Learn More

Very cute. Great Theater. Good attitudes of all staff involved. Didn't like the fact I wasn't told that about 5 elementary schools would make up the audience and there were no playbills. A little short, almost rushed but, the kids loved it and singing along was encouraged. Over all fun. great parking too

I took my 2 young granddaughters, ages 8 and 6, knowing they would love it, but I may have loved it more! Great music, talented young people, Drury Lane is easy to get to and to park. Very enjoyable event!

The show was great and the theatre was also. My only complaint is that the sound was not so good, the tech was often late adjusting the volume on the cast mics and you sometimes missed what was said. This was my first time at this Drury Lane Theatre and I loved it there is not a bad seat in the house! I am glad I got to see a show here before they sell it and change the name.
