Funny Girl revolves around Ziegfeld comedienne Fanny Brice and her rise to fame in the early '20s. Told mostly in flashbacks, the musical shows her from the start as a gawky Brooklyn teen, fast-talking her way into show business and her first triumph in the Zeigfeld Follies, to becoming the toast of New York, to the unraveling of her personal life and marriage to gangster Nick Arnstein. I'm not a huge fan of musicals but this was great. Entertaining storyline. The set was stunning and everything had a modern flair to it. The actresses that played Millie and the head stenographer lady (can't recall her name) have a knack for delivering humor. I wasn't a big fan of Mrs. Meers or the 2 Asian men. It was way too stereotypical of Chinese and I guess I'm sensitive to that because I'm Asian. The men's performances were average. However, the scene where Trevor Graydon meets Dorothy for the first time was played brilliantly. The last thing I want to mention is that the actress that played Muffy brought down the house. Her voice is incredible.
Great musical, would definitely recommend it.

One of the best musicals I've seen in a long time. Upbeat, uplifting and hilarious. I loved the way the cast "shares" the jokes with the audience with sly looks that include everybody. Costumes were beautifully rendered with the era in mind. Voices like angels.

My husband and I attended the Saturday 5 PM show. It lasted almost 2 1/2 hours and was great. The costumes and sets were wonderful and the energy of all in the show was outstanding. I personally did not care for the performance of the woman taking the part of the hotel operator, but the rest of the audience seemed to like it.
