It's "comedy tonight" in Stephen Sondheim's laugh-out-loud musical farce, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Travel with Woodminster Summer Musicals to Ancient Rome and experience the zany antics of Pseudolus the freedom-seeking slave, his young master Hero and the beautiful but slow-witted courtesan Philia. With such songs as "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid," "Lovely" and "I'm Calm," this slapstick comedy sings and dances its way through mistaken identities, a house full of courtesans, and an elaborate web of lies that all leads to an uproarious night at the beautiful outdoor amphitheater. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and co-written by Larry Gelbart (M*A*S*H*), this timeless romp was inspired by the 2,000-year-old farces of the ancient Roman playwright Plautus.

Annie Get Your Gun: Irving Berlin's Wild West Musical

Full Price:
$27.00 - $44.00
Our Price:
$14.50 - $23.00

Saddle up for a Wild West adventure! Annie Oakley is the best shot around, supporting her little brother and sisters by selling the game she hunts. But when she's discovered by Col. Buffalo Bill, he persuades her to join his Wild West Show. In a heartbeat, Annie falls in love with the show's veteran sharpshooter, Frank Butler, and soon eclipses him as the show's main attraction. Butler hightails it off to join a rival show, his bruised male ego leading the way, but is ultimately pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out. This rousing musical comedy features classic Irving Berlin hits such as "Anything You Can Do," "Doin' What Comes Naturally" and "There's No Business Like Show Business!" This family musical will appeal to all ages. Learn More

A great performance of a classic. Staging was simple yet effective, venue was beautiful, orchestra provided warm accompanyment.

It was a mediocre production of a farce. The part of the evening that was really enjoyable was the picniic we had beforehand as this venue is breathtaking.
