The curling community appears to include a freindly, fun-loving bunch of folks. The instructors were upbeat and encouraging. We learned the lingo and engaged in a step-by-step hands-on process ending the evening with a game. Despite his sore knee afterwards, my husband commented that he could see getting into curling. The game involves more skill, strategy and conviviality than one might guess based on seeig it every 4 years on TV.

There wasn't really a good explanation about what this was, but it was a 2 hour lesson. We learned the basics and even got to play a game at the end. The groups were about 8-10 people with 4-5 on each team. Really great and a bit chilly.
