This event will begin the celebration of the 35th Anniversary of Oakland Youth Chorus. Celebrated artists such as Broadway star Luba Mason, Bistro Award-winner Terese Genecco, jazz legend Wesla Whitfield with Mike Greensill, and other surprise guests including OYC alumni are scheduled to entertain. Also, enjoy performances by the superstars of tomorrow in the 2008-2009 OYC Concert Chorus.
Since 1974 the East Bay has been home to the Oakland Youth Chorus, an amazing organization dedicated to providing a cross-cultural music education and performance program for youth, fostering talent, confidence, and community. Oakland Youth Chorus also produces two major concert events each year in the winter and spring, showcasing the work of the award-winning music ensemble. They also produce a "Music of Our World" concert featuring youth who are interested in percussion and African dance.
All proceeds benefit the Oakland Youth Chorus for Music Education.
