Buried Child: Sam Shepard's Pulitzer-Winning Family Drama

Full Price:
$20.00 - $45.00
Our Price:
$10.00 - $22.50

Set during the rural economic slowdown of the 1970s, playwright Sam Shepard's universally acclaimed Buried Child resonates as strongly today as it did when it launched Shepard's career in 1978. A Pulitzer winner for drama, Buried Child makes for a fierce, forceful and unforgettable portrayal of the realities of the American Dream. The realistic masterpiece mixes comedy and drama, keen commentary and deep emotion in a squalid farm home occupied by a clan filled with suppressed violence, apparent unhappiness and dark secrets. Kenneth Kelleher directs this San Jose Stage Company production. Learn More

More Information About Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap

Description

Still running on London’s West End, this murder mystery by Agatha Christie has been captivating audiences for more than 50 years. The suspense builds from the first moment, when a snowbound group gathers in a country inn. The guests include a major, an architect, a young woman and a retired judge. An uninvited stranger with an indefinable accent, Mr. Paravincini, wanders in after his auto skids off the road. There is talk of a murder in town, and a detective arrives to question them. The plot thickens when one of the guests is killed, and the officer intensifies his inquiry.

Associate Artistic Director John Going (director) has staged more than 30 productions at Olney including Doubt: A Parable, 13 Rue de L’Amour, I Am My Own Wife and The Constant Wife. A four-time Helen Hayes Award nominee, Going received the award for Outstanding Direction for his work on The Miser at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre. He recently won the Kevin Kline Award for Best Director for I Am My Own Wife at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.

Starring Olney regulars Julie-Ann Elliott, MaryBeth Wise, Jeffries Thaiss, Harry A. Winter, Paul Morella and Cornelia Hart, with Scott Barrow and Andrew Grusetskie making their Olney debuts.
