Brown started his career in Atlanta, Georgia after relocating there from his home in South Carolina almost thirty years ago. A tailor by trade, Brown aspired to be a clothing designer before stitching together a comedy routine after entering a local ‘gong show’ contest in a local nightclub, Mr. V’s Figure Eight. Invited back to host on a regular basis, Brown became a fixture at the hot spot, performing there for the next two years.
He left Atlanta for Los Angeles in 1989 he could pursue work in television, quickly landing a prime gig as a staff writer for The Arsenio Hall Show, the popular, nationally-syndicated late-night talk show. After that five-year stint ended, Brown racked up other writing assignments for such sitcoms as Parenthood and Me and the Boys.
He has performed on _Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at the Apollo, Evening at the Improv _and Oprah, and landed recurring roles on Moesha, Living Single and Parenthood, as well as guest spots on The Parkers and Sparks. His motion picture work includes roles in How to Be a Player, Pay the Price, Drumline and Mr. 3000. He also won gigs warming up audiences at the tapings of Martin, Sister, Sister, Roc and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. Brown has received the Peabody Award and the NAACP Image Award.
Brown is currently a radio personality on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, a nationwide radio show aired out of Dallas, Texas.
Born Mark Lewis Macabe June 4, 1980 in Compton, California, Lil G is a graduate of Compton High School where he participated in football, baseball, and track. Lil G’s comedic fanaticism has been motivated by top comedians such as Richard Pryor, Martin Lawrence, and Eddie Murphy. Known for his famous one liners such as “Ladies, which o’ of y’all likes, me?”, and his great comedic timing Lil G’ has become a reputed stand-up in Hollywood California.
Lil G’ has graced the stages of many prominent venues for instance the Comedy Store (Hollywood), Improv (Hollywood), Mixed Nuts, The Laugh Factory (Hollywood), Comedy Union, Beverly Hills Friars Club, and the Pasadena Ice House. Comedian Lil G not only blazes stages, but the television as well, showcasing his talent on the last season of Club Comic View where he received a standing ovation during his performance in New Orleans. He’s also appeared on popular MTV hit specials YO MOMMA and Nick Cannons Wild N Out, TV One’s Who’s Got Jokes with Bill Bellamy, and a special appearance on the Showtime Series Weeds along with Snoop Dogg, as well as making several cameo appearances in music videos for top artists such as Ciara, Snoop Dogg, and Chris Brown.
